In the light of the problems of low oxygen utilization coefficient, high energy consumption and secondary pollution in domestic wastewater treatment using activated sludge method or traditional membrane bioreactor, the exploiting test on treating domestic wastewater with bubbleless aeration in an inorganic ceramic membrane bioreactor was carried out in this paper. The bubble point pressure of oxygen in the membrane bioreactor system was measured. The properties of the film forming of the biofilm was studied. The effects of the flow rate and the COD concentration at inlet on COD removal were discussed respectively and the suitable technical conditions was determined. The experimental results showed that the oxygen utilization coefficient was 100% and the COD removal coefficient was more than 90% and the COD concentration at outlet was lower than that regulated in the Domestic Station Service Water Quality Standard ( CJ25.1—89 ) issued by the Construction Military of China under suitable entering wastewater flux and pollutant concentrations.
