摘要

In this study, the effect of nonionic surfactant on the pressure filtration of tincal ore clayrnminerals was investigated. The filtration of clays was not possible without flocculation. In thernpresence of flocculant, the surfactant addition caused to decrease of the filtration rate in thernpressure filtration, which is different from the literature. The surfactant addition caused torndisperse of the formed flocks of the clay suspensions and decreased the flock strength. Thernresidual moisture content of the clay mineral filter cakes was also increased. This study coversrnthe zeta potential measurements in the clay suspensions to find out the relation between thernsurfactant concentration and the surface charge of the minerals. The change of the filtrationrnrate of clay minerals with the surfactant addition in the presence of flocculant has beenrninvestigated.
