The new rail technology Paderborn is a new and more flexible railway system. Many small, demand-driven vehicles take up freight or passengers at the starting point and drive these to their destination. The simulation is a necessary tool for a strategic dimensioning. Common railway simulators are unsuitable for the new rail technology. Material flow simulators partly include elements for automated guided vehicles, which are closer to the new rail technology for logistical purposes than traditional railway service. Based on these simulators a construction set was developed with which the new rail technology Paderborn can be examined on a logistical level.
