Early in 1964, Pye and Sandiford established the fact thatrnpolymer flooding can result in greater oil recovery than thernconventional water flooding. Many additional papersrnsustaining and extending this information have since appearedrnin the literature. In the past forty years, many field-scalernpolymer flooding projects have been put into production andrnlots of information has been available from which to drawrnconclusions regarding of lessons learnt and experiences gainedrnon field-scale polymer-flooding. The purpose of this paper isrnto examine the ranges of some important parameters withinrnwhich successful polymer flooding has been achieved and tornpresent lessons learnt and best practices on polymer flooding,rnthus direct to design and further achieve a high-performancernpolymer-flooding project.
