New architectures of manufacturing systems have beenrnproposed aiming at realizing more flexible control structures ofrnmanufacturing systems, which can cope with dynamic changesrnin volume and variety of products, and also with thernunscheduled disruptions. They are so called autonomousrndistributed manufacturing systems like random manufacturingrnsystems, biological manufacturing systems, and holonicrnmanufacturing systems. The purpose of the present researchrnis to develop an integrated process planning and schedulingrnsystem, which is applicable to the holonic manufacturingrnsystems. A systematic method is proposed to determine both thernmachining sequence of the individual products and thernproduction schedules for the multi-products I.e. the schedule ofrnindividual machining equipment. A stepwise method ofrnGA(Genetic Algorithm) and DP(Dynamic Programming) isrnproposed first for the process planning of each product, andrnthen the method of GA and DR (Dispatching Rule) for thernproduction scheduling of the entire products.rnKeywords: Holonic Manufacturing, Scheduling, ProcessrnPlanning, Dispatching Rule
