A RE-APPRAISAL OF THE 1992 LANDERS EARTHQUAKE INSAR DATAUSING THE AMBIGUITY SEARCH METHOD

The 1992 Landers earthquake is perhaps the mostrnfamous earthquake for InSAR, having been the subjectrnof many different scientific journal, magazine andrnnewspaper articles. This plethora of papers means thatrnthe site is very well known and any attempt to processrnthe data should be able to confidently predict the results.rnThe ambiguity search method, proposed in 2003, offersrna potential procedure for DINSAR that appears to havernsome benefits when there is no terrain model or whenrnground control is sparse, even over mountainous terrain.rnIn this paper, an attempt to re-create the classic Landersrnresults using the new process is described. The resultsrnare compared with previous results and also with GPSrndata of the region.
