Dromion Solutions for Lower Hybrid Waves in Auroral Plasmas

Recent satellite observations have revealed monopolar and bipolar pulses in the auroral region The authors have proposed droinions as a possible paradigmatic model for such highly localixed multidimensional structuctures. It is shown that the nonlinear evolution of a two dimensional lower hybrid wave may be governed by the coupled Davey-Stewartson I (DS-I) type of equations which are known to admit dromion solutions for some appropriate choice of parameters. A possible lower hybrid dromion solution will be compared with the previous results of electron acoustic dromions and contemporary space observations.
