摘要

The electrochemical regeneration of an activated carbon saturated with toluene has been studied. Cathodic and anodicrnregeneration methods have been analyzed using a small batch electrochemical cell. In both cases, a regeneration efficiency closernto 100% can be obtained choosing the adequate conditions (potential, intensity or time of the electrolysis). Successive loading andrnregeneration cycles of the activated carbons have been performed without loss of the adsorption properties of the activatedrncarbons. Thus, this method seems to be very effective for regeneration of activated carbons compared to the conventional thermalrnregeneration as it does not modify the porous texture of the material.
