摘要

Intensive Friction-Assisted Extrusion (IFAE) is executed due to shear stresses on briquette/container contact surface which are directed to the die. Movable and stationary containers are used in some basic versions of IFAE which is a logical supplement and an effective alternative to indirect and direct extrusion. If IFAE is carried out under optimum conditions, peripheral area of metal flow leads its central part in the plastic zone and maximum of metal deformation displaces from periphery of the flow to its axis. This physical phenomenon was used to improve extrudabiliry, to reduce non-uniformity and anisotropy of mechanical properties of products, to increase their density and extrusion rate etc. Pilot-scale mastering of IFAE in terms of production of Al-based powder materials carried out at a plant showed its considerable advantages in comparison with conventional extrusion processes.
