SOURCE MODULES IN THE NEW NORDIC PREDICTION METHODS FOR ROAD AND RAIL TRAFFIC NOISE

The preliminary source modules in the new Nordic prediction methods for road and railway traffic noise are presented. Vehicles/trains are described as a number of sub sources each with a certain position, sound power level and, if relevant, directivity. The attenuation during propagation is calculated for each sub source using point source sound propagation theory. The sound exposure level is calculated for each sub source pass-by and finally all contributions are added and L_(eq) is calculated.
