Application of synthetic textiles in membrane structures

摘要

Membrane structure is the most recent development in building structures and has been gradually popularized and used around the world. It becomes one of the important area in the application of synthetic textiles. This paper reviews the trends of the development and application of membrane structures and also the advances of architectural fabrics. The research and development of membrane structures, production of membrane material, fabrication and erection as well as some notified engienering projects in China are introduced. The prospects of membrane structures in China are also discussed.
