Thermomechanical power tube spinning is used to fabricate large-diameter-thin-walled 7075 aluminum tubes with high precision tolerance and improved mechanical properties. The thermomechanical treatment involves a first reduction by tube spinning and before the second reduction, the preform is solution treated and water quenched to soften and release the work hardening induced during the first reduction. After a second reduction designed mainly to adjust the dimensions of the preform, the 7075 aluminum tubes are artificial aged to fulfill the optimum mechanical properties. In order to obtain the maximum reduction in each spinning, the tube spinnabilities of 7075 aluminum alloys examined by continuous reduction method and microscopic investigation are determined to be 40
