Teamwork is the backbone for effective collaborative work domains. But, the ICT (Integrated Computer Tool) support for such teamwork has been non-contingent and less adoptable. This paper attempts to build a conceptual model that is a base for a Requirement Engineering (RE) model in developing a contingent and adoptable tool support, by analysing the findings from a pilot study on the activities of teamwork. Sample recordings of teamwork were observed and the multi-view recordings are analysed to acquire knowledge on the activities among the participants, before deriving a conceptual model. The results revealed insights on the richness of the observational data and the necessity of introducing socio-technical aspects in the conceptual model. The lessons from the study were influential in understanding the dynamic nature of team activities that were neither prescribed nor expected to occur but emerged in the course of the teamwork. The findings suggest further in-depth understanding and evolving knowledge on team activities and the importance of refining the model to provide contingent tool support based on the emergent activities.
