MODELING AND SIMULATION OF WEB FORMING PROCESS WITH DILUTION HEADBOX

摘要

In the dilution headbox, the basis weight profile of the paper web is controlled with consistency inside the headbox in cross direction. Consistency is controlled by diluting the headbox main flow with the white water. Consistency disturbances of the mixed flows are causing profile disturbances by three different mechanisms. In this paper, an accurate process model of the dilution headbox and web forming is presented. Dilution headbox simulator has been implemented with APMS simulator platform. Model principles are introduced and simulation results are presented from simulated grade change case.
