RUN-TO-RUN CONTROL: USING DEAD-ZONES TO IMPROVE SPEED-VARIANCE TRADE-OFF

摘要

This paper discusses some issues associated with the design of run-to-run control algorithms. It is shown that for certain types of perturbations, the incorporation of a dead-zone in the controller can improve performance in terms of steady-state and transient behavior. Some simple guidelines for the tuning of such controllers are offered and a smooth variant of the dead-zone is proposed to reduce the sensitivity of the algorithm to the selection of the dead-zone threshold.
