This paper presents a multiple criteria planning model to determine the optimal types, locating and sizing of the small-dispersed generation sources and electric energy storage plants, in electric distribution systems, considering three criteria: total economical cost, contamination and peak power losses in the feeders. A genetic algorithm is used for solving the corresponding multiobjective optimization problem, which allows for the planner to select the best economical solution, also taking into account the energetic and environmental aspects. The multiobjective solution is compared with the classical monobjective solution (single objective optimization of the economical cost) in an illustrative example. The methodology is easily applied to determine the set of non-dominated solutions of the optimal planning of distribution systems including classical substations, small renewable and electric energy storage plants.
