Luck plays a surprising part in yourrnprocess optimization. One-Factor-At-A-Timernmethods rely on luck, often producing neitherrnthe results you need nor a “map” of the processrnbeyond the actual experiments performed.rnDesign of Experiments eliminates the elementrnof luck and is proven to use minimumrnresources to extract the maximum amount ofrninformation from a pilot plant optimizationrnstudy. Response Surface Methodology enablesrnyou to understand the process at any level(s) ofrnthe factors studied. Three examples fromrnactual pilot plant studies are presented tornillustrate these points.
