摘要

This presentation bypasses the philosophical meaning of the often quoted term "Best Practices." Instead, it deals with both examination and explanation of the twelve "reliability attributes" that seem to unite the most profitable, well-managed HPI companies. Using the findings of maintenance and reliability effectiveness studies in the United States and overseas, this paper provides insight into successful improvement strategies. It highlights organizational line-ups, work practices and functional interfaces pursued and implemented by companies that consistently excel in terms of profitability and optimized resource utilization. The successful machinery engineer's problem solution strategy is discussed as well.
