Liquid desiccant cooling offer several advantages compared to conventional desiccant systems in respect of solar cooling,e.g. lower regeneration temperature potential,higher COP potential,and energy storage potential.Conditions are outlined under which these potentials can be realized,efficient energy storage being the major objective.Solid and liquid desiccants are compared.A cooled liquid desiccant absorber for air dehumidification and efficient energy storage caapcity (100 MJ/m~3). based on special exchanger surfaces,has been developed and built.Experimental results using LiCl-H_2O so-lution as desiccant are reported.
