Quantitative constraint satisfaction n preliminary bridge foundation design

摘要

This paper describves a Decision Support System (DSS) for supporting bridge designers in the early stages of foundation design.The system has bene developed using information acquired from practising bridge engineers,geotechnical engineers and estimators.Enhanced levels of information and greater design flexibility are provided which facilitates the exploration of foundation design.The system is currently limited to hte desing of the msot common forms of abutments,spread and piled foundations in the UK.
