The impact of differences in color monitor calibration on the interpretability of multispectral imagery was evaluated. Monitor calibrations differed in terms of white point temperature, dynamic range, gamma, and the relationship between input command level and output color as measured in CIE L~*u~*v~* space. Results showed that white point temperature (D65 vs D93) had no effect on interpretability. Decreasing dynamic range from 25 to 15 dB significantly degraded interpretability. Use of a look up table designed to match the human visual response function produced the best level of interpretability among the alternatives evaluated.
