22.4L: Required and Achievable Backlight Luminances for CRT-Replacement LCD Monitors

摘要

This paper addresses the required and achievable backlight luminances necessary for LCD monitors targeting desktop and TV applications. Both design principle and experimental results are presented to illustrate how to achieve luminance values several factors higher than the intrinsic luminance of the light source used in the backlight.
