Time-Domain Measurement of the Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Responses and Wideband RCS of Metal Cylinder

The transient electromagnetic response of a metal cylinder was measured in real space by means of impulse radar. Then, from the measured datum, the wideband RCS and resonance frequencies of the metal cylinder were computed by means of "transient response method"~(1). The pulse width of pulse signal source used in measurement is 1 ns. The comparison between theoretically computed and measured RCS curves indicates that measured result is better keeping with theoretically computed result. The measured datum in this paper are stable and reliable. Also, the datum are of good repeatability.
