Object-Oriented Information Systems in the 21st Century

Object-oriented technology is increasingly being adopted as the basis for new information system implementations. Object and particularly, object-relational database systems will soon become the platforms of choice for new information systems, and the object/component technologies of CORBA, COM, and JavaBeans are becoming the basis for implementing large-scale distributed information systems through current day technology, and based on current hardware, software, and business trends explore possible future directions and potential for object oriented information systems.
