摘要

Industrial companies are being more and more interestedrnin the non-deterministic aspects of system, structure and pro-rncess design, and beyond, in the non-deterministic analysis andrnoptimisation outcomes. The main diu000eculties of stochastic ap-rnproaches lie in the evaluation of the statistical distributions ofrnthe structural responses. Current methods fall in two categories,rnwith Monte-Carlo methods whose computational costs becomernprohibitive as the number of parameters increases or the ex-rnpected confdence levels are high and Stochastic Finite Elementrnmethods whose assumptions may be restrictive. In order to cal-rnculate the statistical distributions of structural responses, anrnoriginal method is proposed. The method, which uses inter-rnval arithmetics, seems promising in terms of performance andrnsuitability for intensive numerical treatment.
