The ractangular coordinate FD-TD method coupled with digital filtering and the MUSIC algorithm are applied to analyse HE_11 modes of DR loaded rectangular and cylindrical cavities. The computed resonant frequencies for thee TE_01 and TE_11 modes compare well with those available in the literature. Inter-resonator coupling values for the HE_11 mode are also determined. The analysis is extended to study the effect f placing quadruple ridges in a DR loaded rectangular cavity and the ridge tuning range has been estimated as a function of ridge penetration.
