A Signalling Interworking method for Frame Relay Services in an ATM switching system

While Frame Relay and ATM networks may initially coexist as separate networks,we can easily expect that eventually frame relay will traffic into the multimedia ATM networks.Therefore it is essential to interwork between frame relay network and ATM network that becomes a backbone network in B-ISDN.In this point of view,we study interworking function between frame relay and ATM for accomodation of frame relay services in B-ISDN,especially on the signalling interworking function.This paper describes the signalling interworking method and the affected protocol stack in control plane.Also we propose a ATM system configuration which supports frame relay services.
