This paper discusses the planning and execution of a multi-million dollar, heavy oil renewable resource development project in the amqazon Basin of Ecuador. The project work is authorized under a risk service contract with PETROECUADOR and employs new tchnology in order to minimize environmental and cultural impacts on the environment and the inhabiants of the areas. During the peak of the project, over 3,000 workers were employed and managed in the rainforest funder special guidelines, in order to avoid damages to the environment.
