Abstract: This paper presents a novel method for the spectroscopic measurement of the state of polarization of light. A pair of thick retarders made of quartz are incorporated into the polarimeter to obtain a broadband spectrum including three quasi-sinusoidal components. This spectrum offers the significant information to determine the frequency-dependent Stokes parameters of the light under measurement. Unlike the conventional polarimeters, no mechanical movable component for polarization alignment is required.!2
