The objective of this study is to propose ways to improve the performance of hay fever masks. Experiments conducted in previous studies have revealed that the masks currently available adsorb a considerable amount of pollen. However, the effectiveness of these masks once they are actually worn has not been verified. This study investigates the issues related to the inhalation of pollen through the gap between the mask and the face. In order to provide a solution for the abovementioned problems, I measured the shift length of the mask and face in real time by observing a subject wearing a two-dimensional gauze mask for hay fever.
