摘要

Children spend much of the daytime within school environments during critical developmental stages of their life. They are at a greater risk of environmental hazards than adults due to their characteristic behaviour patterns. Ergonomic risks in school educational environments are multitude and many developed countries have already contemplated on preventive strategies both at micro and macro-ergonomic perspectives. More than two thirds of the school children population live in developing world. Still ergonomic concepts have not reached these countries. Many international agencies are committed to improving educational settings in resource-poor setups. They are in collaborative efforts to achieve multiple dimensions of improving school environments. The International Ergonomic Association can assume the lead role in alliance with other international bodies to introduce ergonomics in the school health promoting initiatives utilizing numerous entry points.
