Limit Strains for Severe Accident ConditionsDescription of an European Research Program and First Results

The failure strains for a large variety of specimens from reactor pressure vessel material will be investigated. Ofrnspecial interest is the dependence of the failure strains on the size of the specimens. The research program and firstrnresults are outlined. Based on the findings limit strains will be proposed which should be acceptable under severernaccident conditions.
