A simple model of electrolytic capacitor is selected. These parameters are determined by a genetic algorithm integrated in the Matlab software. The identification of the parameters is carried out thanks to the frequential measurement. Optimization is defined by a function minimizing the error between measurements and the calculation of the algorithm. The parameters of the electrolytic capacitors, witch vary strongly with the temperature and aging time, are taken into account. The identification gives good results for the values of temperature higher than 0℃ and for all aging times. This simple model can be integrated as a transfer function or a schematic representation in order to be used in various types of simulation software. This method can be applied with other capacitor types and models.
