Condition Rating Method for Concrete Structures

摘要

Condition rating is a quantitative indication of bridge condition. It serves for ranking therndeteriorated bridges in a road network, for assessing the tendencies of deterioration and for roughrnestimation of the remaining carrying capacity of the superstructure. The paper presents thernprocedure developed in Slovenia for the assessment of bridge condition, based on data of visualrninspection of the structure and of some basic tests. Detected damages are evaluated by taking intornaccount: the type of damage and its effect on the safety and/or durability of the distressed structuralrnmember, the impact of the affected structural component on the overall safety and durability of thernstructure, the intensity of the damage, and the extent and expected propagation of the damage.rnPractical engineering application of the method is also described.
