The Gorgon Project: A World Class Gas Resource.rnLocated in Western Australia with prime access to the Asia Pacific region, the Gorgon Project is set to become one of the world's most significant gas projects.rnThe Gorgon fields contain in excess of 40 Tcf of gas, representing about 25% of Australia's known gas resources.rnChevron has a 50 % interest in and is operator of the Gorgon Project. ExxonMobil and Shell's Australian subsidiaries each hold 25 %.rnThe Gorgon Project is based on :rn1. Directionally drilled template wells linked to a sub-sea gas gathering systemrn2. Sub-sea pipelines from the Gorgon gas field and Jansz gas field to the LNG plant location on Barrow Island,rn3. A gas processing facility consisting of an initial two trains located on central-east coast of Barrow Islandrn4. Injection of reservoir carbon dioxide into the subsurfacern5. Liquid hydrocarbon shipping facilities to transport the product to marketrnThe Gorgon owners have adopted a flexible and innovative marketing approach for LNG in the Asia-Pacific where each individual owner secures market for its own share of gas.rnThis and other innovative approaches to partnership and marketing have delivered real benefits to the Gorgon Project.
