For many years, rigid Polyurethane Foam (PUF) foamed by chlorofluorocarbonrn(CFC) has been used as insulation for machinery that handles cryogenic fluids. The CFC has a large ozone depletion potential, and an enormous global warming potential. Based on the international restriction of them, the development of CFC-free insulation has been globally recognized as a pressing task.rnTokyo Gas has developed and put into practical use the world's first PUF foamed with carbon dioxide. It can be applied to equipment used for any cryogenic fluid (LNG, LN2, LOX, LH2, etc) and therefore can contribute to the sustainable progress of society to protect the global environmentrnCases of the Latest Applicationrn2.
