Qualification Tests of Electric Valve Actuator with Category K1, Class 1E for Nuclear Power Plants

The electric valve actuator has been researched and developed in order to meet thernlocalization of valves for nuclear power plant. According to the requirements ofrnIEEE-382-1996, it is necessary to provide assurance that safety system equipments in nuclearrnpower plants can meet their performance requirements under defined conditions, includingrnpostulated design basis events (DBE). Accelerated thermal aging test, mechanical wear agingrntest, normal and DBE radiation exposure test, vibration aging test and seismic simulation test,rnand DBE environment (LOCA) test should be performed in the development of electric valvernactuator with Category K1, Class 1E for nuclear power plant. This paper mainly summarizesrnthese qualification tests that provide the basis for the electric actuator to operate normallyrninside containment of PWR.
