Strawberries were grown in a 2:5 zeolitic:tuff-soil mixture under greenhousernconditions, in order to verify the influence of zeolites on plant productivity and nutrientrnconcentration. Strawberry fruits were harvested 22 times throughout three months period andrnthe leaves were collected after 138 days of the experiments. Nutrient uptake was studied byrnanalyzing the dried young mature and old leaves. The productivity of the plant increased aboutrn71.5% due to addition of the zeolitic tuff, which also significantly increased the concentrationrnof nutrients in the leaves. N, P, Mg, Ca, Fe and Zn increased about 39%, 4%, 9%, 26%, 4%rnand 17%, respectively. The use of zeolitic tuff also increased the height of the plant by anrnaverage of 19%, and reduced the death percentage by an average of 68%. Size and taste ofrnstrawberry fruits were also evaluated.
