In the present study, a novel VOF method on a non-rnorthogonal grid is proposed and tested for severalrnbenchmark problems, including a simple translationrntest, a reversed single vortex flow and a shearing flow,rnwith the objective to demonstrate the feasibility andrnaccuracy of the present approach. Excellent agreementrnbetween the solutions obtained on both orthogonal andrnnon-orthogonal meshes is achieved. The sensitivity ofrnvarious methods to the L1 error in evaluating the in-rnterface normal and volume flux at each face of a non-rnorthogonal cell is examined. Time integration meth-rnods based on the operator-splitting approach in curvi-rnlinear coordinates, including the explicit-implicit (EX-rnIM) and explicit-explicit (EX-EX) combinations, arerntested.
