The influence of the payload size on the aerodynamic characteristics of a rotating cross-type parachute

Parachute payload systems that are closely coupled, in order to perform trajectory shaping, tend to have a small diameter ratio between the canopy diameter and the payload. The effect of decreasing area ratio on the system aerodynamic performance has been experimentally investigated.
