Summary of Electron Cyclotron Emission Measurements

During the12th workshop on electron cyclotron emission and electron cyclotron heating 15 papers were presented on the subject of measurements of electron cyclotron emission (ECE). From the seven oral presentations two were invited. Eight papers were presented in the poster sessions. The topics range from new diagnostic methods, such as the electron Bernstein conversion emission as a new tool for measuring the electron temperature, the role of superthermals especially during auxiliary heating, to the role of measurements of ECE in plasma control. Also, the development of new state-of-the-art ECE instrumentation for several tokamaks as well as for ITER was presented. Two papers dealt with the observation of modes and temperature fluctuations. In the following the different aspects are summarised and concluded.
