Digital Image Correlation Method for analyzing the Deformation Behavior of the Refractories

A computer program for the digital image correlation method was developed using the pattern matching. The deformation behaviors of the refractories under compression, cylinder splitting and thermal shock tests were analyzed in the samples using the program. In these tests, generation and propagation of cracks were observed in strain distribution. The displacement measurement of brick and jig in the slide gate plate setting was also carried out, and deformation behavior of each part was grasped. The method is useful for monitoring the deformation behavior of whole sample of the refractories when the measurements using strain gauge and linear displacement gauge are difficult.
