摘要

In this paper is presented approach in planning the deployment of 868 MHz RF modules in Wireless Sensor Networks scenarios. This approach covers the site-general ITU propagation model calculation compared with the real field measurement made with open-source hardware platform based on Arduino UNO and RFBee communication modules. The field measurements are made in institutional building in order to find effective way to predict best positions for wireless sensor stations in Wireless Sensor Network. The Arduino is used to make effective and low-cost platform for experiments. The RF 868 MHz modules are used in order to avoid 2.4 GHz frequency range with lot of interference. In this paper is presented the platform, test conditions, measurement results and the discussion about the achieved results with focus on the tuning of the ITU loss propagation model for the best planning of node deployment in the given scenario.
