The issue of tutorial in doctoral education is particularly important for students' academic devel- opment. The literature on doctoral tutorial can be broadly divided into three primary thematic areas-influences on advising, advising relationship, and advising styles. Most of them are based on the theoretical framework such asacademic socialization, professional identity and etc. Knowing more about advisors 'discourse can fill the gap of current literature which is mainly doctoral students'voice. Furthermore, it would be insightful if we inquire into the doctoral advising from the perspectives of knowledge production and academic profession, as well as commu-nicating the policy and practices which would provide a systematic and theoretical understanding about the situa- tion and process, structure and action in comparative education.%纵观西方博士教育研究史,教师指导是促进博士生学术成长的关键因素。学界研究大体聚焦在博士生指导的意义、指导关系与师生互动以及指导风格几个方面,并从学术社会化、专业发展等理论进行解释。未来研究可尝试结合知识生产、学术职业来分析博士生指导问题,并沟通政策文本与指导实践,为比较教育研究提供对情境与过程、结构与行动之间更系统和理论化的理解。
