Aproches for replanting senile cashew area in plantation corporation of Kerala Ltd.

摘要

Cashew contributes significantly to the share of export earnings from agricultural commodities to the Indian Economy. Cashew nut cultivation has been there prior to 1966 as well. But a coordinated approach was initiated from 1966 by the Directorate ofCashew nut Development. As an effort to increase the area under cashew, no scientific plantations could be developed, as even the selection were of random nature, which resulted in large hectarage of unsatisfactory productive ability. Coupled to this, inadequacy of a standardized package of treatments further deteriorated the situation.
