摘要

Exposure to methylmercury through consumption offish is known to present an increased health risk, particularly to pregnant and nursing mothers, women who might become pregnant and young children. Based on the findings of new research, health agencies are advising sensitive populations to avoid specific fish species known to have higher mercury concentrations and to limit consumption of the most frequently consumed fish containing lower mercury levels.
