Field studies on agri-silvi-horticultural system were carried out on a sandy loam soil under irrigated conditions at NRCAF, Jhansi during 1989-1994. Treatment combinations comprised of 3 fruit tree spacing (main plot), 4 fruit-tree species (sub plots) and 4 intensive crop rotations (Sub-sub plots). In the present paper among the 4 crops, only wheat yield is presented. The silvi component (Leucaena leucocephala) was introduced as a common treatment Results revealed that fruit trees interspaces can be successfully utilized in the initial years for growing crops and fast growing multipurpose tree species (MPTs). Highest productivity of wheat was registered from minimum tree density (10 X 10m fruit tree spacing). No definite trend existed in grain production from the interspaces of 4 fruit tree species. Also there were no significant variations among the two crop rotations for wheat yields. However, jujube-Leucaena-wheat was considered to be the best combination taking into consideration the potentiality of jujube to produce fuel and fodder in addition to fruit under semiarid conditions.
