New data on fossil cyrtocrinids (Cyrtocrinida, Crinoidea) from the Lower Oxfordian of the Polish Jura Chain (southern Poland)

The cyrtocrinid crinoids Eugeniacrinites cariophilites (v. SCHLOTHEIM), Lonchocrinus dumortieri (de LORIOL) and Pilocrinus moussoni (DESOR) are reported from the Lower Oxfordian of the Polish Jura Chain (Ogrodzieniec Quarry) in southern Poland. This constitutes the first Polish record of Eugeniacrinites cariophilites from the Late Jurassic of extra-Carpathian Poland and extends the geographic range of this species in Europe. The stratigraphic distribution of Lonchocrinus dumortieri (de LoRIOL) and Pilocrinus moussoni (DESOR) in the Jurassic of southern extra-Carpathian Poland is slightly clarified. The phylogeny of the family Eugeniacrinitidae is also discussed.
