NORTHERN NATURAL GAS FILES LATEST PHASE OF NORTHERN LIGHTS PROJECT - THE 2009-2010 ZONE EF EXPANSION - AND SEEKS ROLLED-IN PRICING BASED ON ANALYSIS OF NORTHERN LIGHTS AS A WHOLE

On October 17,Northern Natural Gas Co. (CP09-11) filed an application for its 2009-2010 Zone EF Expansion,part of a multi-phase Northern Lights project to expand Market Area capacity at least every two years through 2026 in response to future growth requirements. The facilities are needed to satisfy long-term contracts underlying Northern Lights and requests for firm capacity in the Zone EF Open Season held in October and November 2007,which yielded no offers to turn back capacity. Northern proposed to abandon,remove,and replace various pipeline facilities and add a 14,000 horsepower (hp) Albert Lea greenfield mainline compressor station in Freeborn County,as well as a new Corcoran town border station (TBS) in Hennepin County - all in Minnesota. The project would affect seven counties (Carver,Wright,Hennepin,Dakota,Anoka,Washington,and Freeborn). The estimated cost is 120.5 million.
