The aim of the present study was to determine the type and level of resistance of wheat, rye and triticale accessions to Pucdnia recondita f. sp. tritici and the possibilities for its use in breeding and practice. Triticale lines possessing effectivegenes for vertical and horizontal resistance to the isolate B-04 at seedling stage were evolved. Some of the triticale lines: AD 28, AD 4/16, AD Perun, AD 2410, AD 6-8-17 and AD 30 expressed high level of horizontal resistance, and others - 8x ADVK, AD S-3, AD 2413 and AD 1984, were practically immune at adult stage. The following Hnes-8xADVK, AD S-3, AD 2413, AD 4/16, AD Perun, AD6-8-17 and AD 1984s are recommended to be involved in breeding programs as valuable donors of genetic material, controlled vertical and horizontal resistance. A lack of correlation between vegetative period and AUDPC, as well as between ploidy level and the two types of resistance was established. A correlation of medium type between lines reaction at seedling stage and the level of horizontal resistance at adult stage was established (r=0.4968).
